About NPACT

​NPACT was formed in 2017 through the merging of the Nonfiction Producers Association (NPA) and PactUS – and is the sole trade organization serving producers of non-fiction entertainment content in North America. Its members are comprised of production companies of all sizes, as well as allied services companies. NPACT serves as the voice for the nonfiction creative community, providing a forum for producers as they navigate changes in media and tackle business issues. In June 2018, the organization held its inaugural Impact Awards to celebrate the impact of nonfiction content and the people who make it. The Impact Awards were followed up in 2019 with a partnership with Critics Choice Association to launch the Critics' Choice Real TV Awards. Ed Wilson is Executive Chairman and Michelle Van Kempen is General Manager of NPACT.

Before the June 2017 merger, there were two organizations:

The NPA was formed in 2014 by eight production companies wanting a nonfiction voice in the content/TV industry. John Ford became its first General Manager in 2015.

With the prestige of Pact in the U.K. and Pact's 20+ years of success behind it, PactUS was launched in 2015 with David Lyle as its President.
